2009 Mitsubishi Eclipse
Mileage178,327Service Date10/23/2024Services Performed- P0340 Camshaft position sensor. The engine sounds like it has low compression when cranking. REmoved the upper timing cover and found that the camshaft sprocket does not turn when cranking the engine. Need to remove the remaining timing covers for inspection. Suspect failed timing belt. Possible valve damage since the engine was when this happened. If the timing belt has failed, recommend replacing the timing belt and the performing a cylinder leak down test to see if the valves are bent. The starter sounds loud and course. Recommend inspecting for valve damage before addressing this concerns.
- Engine air filter box broken prior to service. Exhaust leak on start up. Goes away after engine is warm. The starter is still loud and coarse. The exhaust manifold shield is rattling. Post repair test drive- Possible wheel bearing noise from the right front. The drivers window regulator does not always work.
- Passed test on all four cylinders.
