- Key would not come out of ignition and the shift interlock was not operating allowing the shifter to come out of park without stepping on the brake first. Tested the key lock solenoid on the steering column and the shift interlock solenoid. Found that the mechanical linkage for the shift interlock and the microswitch for the key solenoid was binding due to an internally worn shifter knob.
